We are looking for an experienced Technical Superintendent to strengthen our Technical Ship Management team in Malmö. As Technical Superintendent you will be responsible for an agreed number of designated ro-ro and ro-pax vessels owned and operated by Finnlines PLC (part of the Grimaldi Group).

About the position
We offer you an independent and challenging role in one of the leading ro-ro and ro-pax shipping companies in northern Europe. You will work with an international team of experts and be able to develop and deepen your professional skills in one of the most advanced in-house ship management functions in the Nordics. Finnlines, being part of the Grimaldi Group, is financially stable and successfully executing its long-term strategy towards even more sustainable shipping operations.

The Technical Superintendent will ensure and oversee the technical and operational condition of the designated vessels. By working in close cooperation with our highly committed and experienced people onboard and a shore you guarantee that safety, quality of operations and performance and cost effectiveness will be delivered in the Ship Management department.

The key responsibilities and duties of the Technical Superintendent are:

• Work as Technical Superintendent for designated vessels assisting onboard personnel with maintenance, dockings and repairs
• Budget planning and follow-up, including budgeting of dry dockings
• Overall responsibility for repair budgets including approval of the ships ' technical spares and work requisitions in accordance with company procedures
• Making sure that ships comply with national and international rules and regulations and rules of classification society
• Suppliers' and subcontractors' contact person
• Participation in ship modifications and conversions
• In case of accident, responsible for practical arrangements for designated vessels and acting as a member of alarm group

The position requires ability to travel and respond at short notice.

In your role as Technical Superintendent, you will report to the Technical Manager.

Your profile
You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a Naval education.

We believe that you at least have 8-10 years of relevant experience from similar responsibilities and tasks.

To succeed in this position, you must have good knowledge and understanding about technical and operational issues in maritime industry. You perform well under pressure and are used to communicate effectively to various stakeholders.

You are fluent in English, written and spoken. If you also speak and write Swedish and/or Finnish, it is an advantage.

The right candidate should possess the following mindset and skills:

• Evidence of successful and committed project management as well as prioritizing skills
• Knowledge and experience in implementing ISM-code related procedures
• Excellent coordination and teamwork skills
• Good communication and people leadership skills
