Who are we?
The Vehicle Motion & Energy Management Technology stream leads and develops complete vehicle motion-, energy- and thermal control solutions for Safe, Sustainable and Efficient transportation.
Our technology scope is broad and involves advanced mechatronic systems related to motion and optimization of energy in our vehicles.
Thermal Management is a department within Vehicle Technology responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining an optimized complete thermal management system. This is including cab climate and vehicle cooling & heating systems for ICE, BEV, and Fuel cell vehicles within the Volvo Group. We are responsible for the thermal management platform from cradle to grave, both Hardware and Software. The teams within thermal management are located in Gothenburg and Bangalore and have close cooperation with the sites Greensboro and Lyon. To succeed we need to understand the final customer needs and apply our knowledge to develop technical concepts and solutions that satisfy customer and business needs.
We are now looking for an experienced, self-driven System Verification Engineer to strengthen our team, Thermal Management Application SW. Our team is responsible for the design and development of the application SW, controlling the complete thermal management system, and the calibration and tuning of it. Meaning that we are responsible for Cab Climate and the Coolant loop functionality covering all sites and truck brands (among more) within the Volvo Group.
What will you do?
As a System Verification Engineer, you will be responsible for verifying the full scope of electrical systems at V4 and V5 levels in the V-Model, focusing on Go/No-Go decisions for system readiness. You will work hands-on in rigs and trucks (steady state) to ensure that the system behaves as expected under real-world and controlled conditions.
In your daily work, you will have the following responsibilities:
• Define and validate test environments based on system and component requirements.
• Integrate, verify, and validate electrical systems according to expected system behavior.
• Execute full-scope verification activities in rigs and trucks, focusing on steady-state conditions.
• Drive Go/No-Go decisions based on V4 and V5-level verification results.
• Analyze test results, perform root cause analysis, and resolve issues.
• Apply engineering knowledge to interpret incomplete or evolving requirements.
• Take operational responsibility for day-to-day testing and team deliveries.
• Deliver results according to defined methods, expected inputs, and outputs.
• Lead system engineering activities within a technical team.
• Secure quality and system readiness prior to release.
• Support and mentor junior team members and peers.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.

Relevant Experience:
• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or related engineering field.
• More than 5 years of relevant experience in system verification or electrical system testing.
• Experience in test planning, execution, and analysis.
• Hands-on experience with rig and truck testing, especially in steady-state conditions.
• Familiarity with the V-Model development process and V5-level verification.
• Knowledge of automotive electrical systems and system integration.

Meritorious to have:
• Experience in leading technical teams or verification projects.
• Knowledge of agile development and continuous integration practices
