The Radio Networks (RN) methods team within the RAN systems department works with NR/LTE RAN methods and guidelines for dimensioning, planning, optimization and deployment. These are to enable cost efficient solutions and operation of our NR/LTE network product in terms of coverage, capacity and quality. Methods and guidelines for network dimensioning and deployment covers aspects of the air interface in combination with the properties of radio resource functions.
The dimensioning methods are used by Strategic Product Managers and Account Managers to produce competitive offers, by sales people to provide tender support, by cell planners when designing mobile networks and by technical sales support. Planning, Optimization and Deployment methods and guidelines are used by the Services organization and local companies to plan, optimize and deploy new and existing networks.
When working in the area of Dimensioning, Planning, Optimization and Deployment Guidelines, you will drive and participate in development of these for new and existing networks. You will identify technical requirements based on business needs and opportunities, develop models, simulate and analyze suggested solutions using network simulators, and verify the models in field activities. The algorithms and/or methods include areas such as link budgets, planning and propagation, coverage and capacity calculations, power settings, configuration of functions, and traffic analysis of users. The output of the work is documented in models, technical reports and guideline documents.
You will work in cooperation with local companies and design centers, product management, Ericsson Research and key customers and by this be part of driving continuous improvements of products and processes. There will also be opportunity to participate in customer meetings to support product management and sales with RAN system expertise, network models and business cases
Key Qualifications:
We expect you to in general understand Ericsson organization, Product Development and Product Life Cycle aspects. You are expected to be able to plan and drive your own work, collaborate with others, and with a creative and innovating mindset both contribute to and drive team work to reach common goals.
• Education: M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering / Engineering Physics / Wireless communication systems, or equivalent level of knowledge
• High level of Mobile Network understanding in general, and Radio access technologies (WCDMA, LTE, NR), especially in the areas of the Physical Layer, Radio Resource Management and Mobility
• Strong analytical skills, experience of and well-developed understanding of system development
• Knowledge and/or experience in following areas are beneficial: Radio Simulators and/or Testbeds, performing radio link simulations, tools for network planning and for analysis of network performance, Machine Learning
• Very good communication skills, coaching & mentoring skills
• Proven leadership skills
• Effective in teamwork and networking, self-motivated, with drive and initiative
• Excellent English skills
• Innovating, adapting and responding to change
• Delivering results and meeting customer expectations
• Lean & Agile Knowledge and Skills are beneficial
