Beskrivning av tjänsten:
The Engineering Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the Scandinavian business operation. In addition, the Engineering Manager will ensure the smooth interaction and cooperation of the Gothenburg office with other divisions (UK, Italy, USA). The Engineering Manager:
• has overall responsibility for the management of projects from quotation through to order and delivery.
• prepares and executes departmental and project budgets, departmental goals that complement operational and safety targets.
• Performs administrative functions in developing departmental processes, develop staff, and report progress to local and distributed team.
• Confer with senior management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and processes.
• Provides hands on technical assistance to Manufacturing, Marketing, and Quality Assurance regarding design, RFQs (pre-order), Engineering (post order), performance and quality. This may include preparation of customer offers, design calculations, background design data in conformance to industry standards, resolving manufacturing problems, and responding to Sales requests for engineering support.
• Assist business growth by evaluating and developing new markets and product applications.
Key Accountabilities include but are not limited to:
• Use technical and engineering design knowledge.
• Provide technical assistance to Manufacturing regarding system design. Reviews and recommends design revisions to improve cost and quality.
• Provide technical assistance to Quality Assurance to improve product performance and quality.
• Provides technical assistance to Sales/Marketing regarding application, performance, customer inquiries, and specials. Provides Engineering responses to technical questions from customers.
• Has a pivotal role in developing new markets and product applications and will travel internationally as required in order to fulfil this role.
• Review new designs of components for value and in accordance with sound engineering principles, industrial standards, and customer specifications.
• Review performance tests for compliance to specifications and evaluate overall effectiveness.
• Manages a team of technical and administrative employees to ensure the smooth flow of projects and orders through the Scandinavian business operation.
• The Engineering Manager is expected to ensure the department completes these tasks in a timely manner, maintaining a schedule which tracks backlog and on-time performance.
EVIDENCE OF THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS AND DOCUMENTATION I
• Bachelors' degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or evidence of technical qualifications or equivalent experience
• Proven Team Leadership.
• Fluent Swedish and English Language.
• Two references from past employment? at least one relating to the last two years of employment ? either from a direct line manager or from employer.
• One reference from someone who knows you personally (family and relatives are not eligible to submit references)
• A clean and valid driving license
• An ID card or Passport valid for international travel.
