Let us describe the challenge we offer
Our Global team is developing exciting products for the future, that will be sourced and manufactured in China. We offer an Electrical Platform Architect Engineer working on applying the Electrical Platform into each vehicle Programme. This role focuses on the technical definition and application of an exciting breadth of new technologies onto new vehicle concepts, interacting across engineering functions and attribute teams.
What you'll do
Polestars design and development teams are based in Sweden and UK. The EE Architectures will be developed in accordance with the various industry standards for security, safety and diagnostics. You will ensure the architecture and systems design is robust, safe and flexible from initial concept though to series production and beyond. You will be working with all areas of the business (commodity, Attribute and Programme) to deliver all aspects of the EE Architecture to:
• Help develop and maintain the EE architecture required to satisfy the vehicle features, security and safety requirements by interfacing with business partners, electrical system and component owners.
• Contribute to the on-vehicle diagnostic, networks and Electrical vehicle standards including supporting system and component owners to deliver them.
• Define Clear and Compatible assumptions for each vehicle programme to deploy the
• Work closely with future commodity and technology strategy
• Contribute to the reporting out in key technical meetings ensuring technologies and products will meet requirements
• Drive commonality across vehicle programmes, maintaining a common electrical platform
• Support the design and development of features into the Electrical Vehicle Platform
• Deliver Documentation and release of network architecture in alignment with programme milestones
• Work with Electrical Launch Engineers to support investigations into route cause and resolution
Who you are:
• You have 5+ years' experience of working with Electrical Architecture.
• You are a team player, but at the same time used to taking the lead and drive your assignments to completion.
• You are comfortable working on vehicle programs in an international environment.
• You have an understanding of electrical architectures, electrical peripherals, CAN/FlexRay/LIN/AE networks, wiring and diagnostic technologies
• You are a driven person able to deal with tight deadlines and high-pressure situations
• You have a hands-on approach to engineering, practical and enthusiastic
• You have a Possession of an Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive or similar honours engineering degree. Other recognised engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience will be considered.
Desirable
• Demonstrable experience developing systems including the aspects of; software, communications and hardware.
• Demonstrable experience developing products in line with Functional Safety and Cybersecurity
• Experience with network logging and analysis desirable (Vector CANalyser or similar)
