hela Sverige POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for electromechanical engineering design for the Thomson brand actuator platforms. The engineer is a key member of the development team focused on new platform product design and technology. The main focus will be firmware development written in C for the Microchip line of micro-controllers. Understanding how to interface with electrical schematics and/or hardware development preferred.
Duties will include proposal development, presentation to customers, specification development, developing design concepts, coordinating project activities, testing and evaluation, and failure analysis. The global new product development team collaborates through weekly conference calls. This position will have a supporting role through project management and the individual will be required to work closely with the commercial team, the project design team, suppliers, and the end customer. Work assignments may include being the solo engineer on a major project requiring advanced knowledge or a particular field of specialization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Product Design. The main focus will be firmware development in C for the Microchip line of micro-controllers. Should understand electrical schematics, but electrical hardware development is a plus.
• Project Management. Support design and development projects including: specification review and negotiation, communication of design intent to the customer, design concepts, product and project cost estimates, presentation of project reviews, management of the project schedule, prototype fabrication, and product testing and qualification.
• Product Documentation. Responsible for creation of firmware project package, test specifications, qualification testing to specification, and support development of product marketing information.
• Product Support. Perform competitive benchmark analysis and generate reports. Provide customer assistance in the application of products. Evaluate and analyze product failures and propose design related corrective actions.
• Continuous Improvement. Understand and apply Manufacturing, Quality, and FBS tools. Develop a technical understanding of product features and departmental processes. Train personnel as needed and become a recognized leader in specific technologies.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.S.) from a four-year college or university and five years related product or technology experience covering all phases from concept development through production release.
• Software management tools (Flow Diagrams, GIT or SVN usage), Embedded C firmware development using XC8 compiler and MPLAB X IDE, Micro-controller (uC) - Microchip preferred but others acceptable. Familiarity with Altium designer for schematic captures a plus.
• Hardware familiarity with motors, potentiometers, encoders, H-bridge motor drives, current sensing techniques are desirable.
• Firmware familiarity with timers, USART, PWM generation, and state machine development are desirable. Familiarity with J1939, LIN, and ASIL levels a plus.

Your office will be situated in Sweden, Kristianstad but some international travel may be required. Fluent written and spoken communication in Swedish and English required. Individual must have good communication skills
