About the team, role and responsibilities:
• Drive complex projects by executing qualitative and quantitative analysis, recommendations and conclusions
• Responsible for all aspects of assigned projects, from origination to production of deliverables
• Identify important potential topics for analysis
• Utilizes advanced analytical techniques to produce top quality products in collaboration with the business
• Identify and help design improvements in data and infrastructure both within and outside ESR and manage one or more of ESR's operating systems or database products
• Develop widely acknowledged expertise in significant market, strategy and/or policy areas
• Establish and maintain relationships with key executives and external counterparts in areas of expertise
• Involvement in nearly all aspects of market policy and pricing

Nasdaq Economic & Statistical Research (ESR) is looking for a Econ & State Research Senior Specialist to join Stockholm or Helsinki office. The team
consisted of 16 people worldwide - including 12 in the Nordic countries - and is responsible for decision support and business intelligence to all business units.

Education, Professional accomplishments, and Certifications:
• A finance and/or engineering academic degree
• 5-8 years of relevant working experience

Skills, Requirements and Competencies:
• Strong econometrics, machine learning, predictive analytics and/or statistical methods from other fields
• Strong statistical programming skills and working with large data sets in R, Python and/or Scala
• Strong expertise in modern SQL (MS, Postgres and Redshift) for analytics
• Working with ETL tools such as SSIS and PDI is very meriting
• Background working as quantitative researcher in a trading environment is meriting
• Background working in a machine learning role with neural nets is meriting
• Experience with market microstructure theory or market structure is meriting

Furthermore, you need to be flexible and able to adapt to new prerequisites since Nasdaq is an ever changing company in an ever changing industry. This is a permanent full time position located in Stockholm. Desired start date is as soon as possible.
