We'll use this to rethink and develop more groundbreaking services and products that will push both ourselves, our customers, and the market forward.
Data Foundations is a department within P&T Foundations in Schibsted Data and Technology. We are solving exciting problems at scale, spanning from gathering up to 950 million events per day while keeping users' privacy and data security in mind, to building high-quality predictive machine learning models. Our services are powering critical use-cases in Schibsted such as producing insights about our customers, segments for the online advertising on our sites, and personalization of our news.
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Leader to run our Data Foundations Engineering organization, responsible for the suite of products and services leveraged broadly across Schibsted for user identification, payments, and privacy.
In this role you will:

Lead an engineering organization of around 30-40 people, currently organized into five teams

Collaborate with your product counterpart to deliver on our mission

Work in a distributed environment leading teams in Sweden and Norway

Report to Data & Tech CTO and collaborate with other great engineering leaders. We take leadership seriously and the team you will be part of sees it as natural to collaborate, prioritize, support each other and challenge the status quo

Have an impact and grow as a leader

Take part in guiding the continuous improvement of process and technology
About you:

This is not your first management role - you have solid experience as an engineering leader. Everything from recruitment, performance enablement and tech strategy to organizational design comes naturally to you

You might already have been leading leaders in a previous role, but if you haven't, you have worked in a role where you have had substantial responsibility that has made you ready for a new challenge

You have a software development background and understand technology, preferable in the data space (Kafka, Spark)

You have experience of working in or with distributed teams and know that it requires great communication skills and the ability to travel

Data & Tech is a central product and tech unit that serves all of Schibsted. We are about 250+ people in Oslo, Stockholm, and Krakow, and collaborate closely with other product and tech teams in all units in Schibsted. Areas of responsibilities include data & technology strategy, privacy/data trends/responsible data & machine learning, information security, and internal IT.
