Director Purchasing, Engines & Systems
Volvo Penta is now searching for an engaged, visionary leader with ability to provide an inspiring leadership in the position as Director Purchasing, Engines & Systems.

Purchasing plays a major role in Volvo Penta's performance when it comes to managing cost, quality, delivery precision and risk mitigation.
The role
The role will lead and coordinate Volvo Penta's Global Purchasing organization within the areas of Engines & Systems. The Volvo Penta Purchasing organization purchases products from a global supplier base. We secure that the products are delivered to our factories and distribution centers worldwide. As Director Purchasing for Engine & Systems, you and your team will have the responsibilities for commodities such as Vendor Engines, EATS (Exhaust Aftertreatment), Fuel Injection, Turbo charger, Transmission systems, Cooling Systems and other system related commodities.
The position will report directly to the Vice President of Volvo Penta Purchasing Engines & Transmissions and be a member of Engine & Transmission management team. Location is Gothenburg, Sweden. You will also be a part of related forums and collaborate cross-functionally across Volvo Penta.
Key responsibilities
In this leadership role, you'll guide your group's performance and shape transformative strategies, playing a vital role in company success. As the Director, managing a team of Buyers involves handling supplier relationships, fostering collaboration, and driving global purchasing strategies.
Your responsibilities span commercial & Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature - Technology, Sustainability, Risk oversight for assigned commodities, implementing strategies for future challenges. You'll drive sustainability initiatives in alignment with Volvo Group targets, with a focus on the renewable energy Purchasing Strategy. Managing the budget and expenses for Volvo Penta Engine & Systems Purchasing aligns with the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values, impacting the company's overall results.
Your profile and experience
* Professional experience from managerial positions within purchasing from a global environment
* Strong strategic thinking and comprehension of transportation business transformation challenges
* Excellent financial skills and ability to manage different requirements and expectations in a global business environment through your negotiation skills
* Fluency in English
