Advances in digitalization, data and advance analytics are changing industries at pace with the pharma industry showing signs of movement. The Digital Health Market will grow exponentially over the next 3 years, with new applications in digital showing in phase 3 studies significant benefits for patients including overall survival in Cancer. AstraZeneca would like to leap frog in this area and has prioritized digital in R&D as a critical strategic area of focus by 2025, as part of the overall company strategy. Digital Health R&D's ambition is to transform healthcare, powered by digital, science and collaborations, to deliver the healthcare outcomes and experience that patients care about the most.

The Digital Health R&D journey incorporates 3 key stages:

* Stage 1 - foundational, reimagine how we work, by maximizing the use of digital, data and analytics transform processes within R&D to gain significant benefits on speed of the portfolio (goal 9 months acceleration) productivity (goal -20% reduction in cost per patient per year) quality at source, patient experience and probability of success.
* Stage 2 - advanced, redefine clinical trials and digital health to improve overall patient experiences and outcomes, ex redefining patient populations, remote clinical trials, patient apps to reduce/manage adverse events and improve patient outcomes (OS), using data from EHMr and RWE instead of control arms, and through PROs and continuous patient monitoring, creating new end points enabling studies in earlier stages of disease (ctDNA changes) prolonging significantly patients' lives
* Stage 3 - future-readiness, reimagine healthcare, ex. AZ as a healthcare provider beyond medicines for certain indications

Change Management is the most important area to deliver a successful change, without the focus on change management transformation and business change is likely to be unsuccessful.

We are now recruiting a Digital Change Capability Director. This role will report to the Head of the Business Agility Office and will be responsible for leading a team to review the strategy of change management for each value stream, design and deliver high quality change and learning and development initiatives across R&D and within Digital Health R&D to drive changes in ways of working across the R&D organisation in more than 40 country and 10,000 roles globally and increase identified capabilities, ultimately resulting in the realisation of the Digital Health business cases.

This position can be located either at our site in Gothenburg, Sweden, Cambridge, UK or Gaithersburg, US.

What you'll do:

* Strategy for change management across Digital Health R&D on change related across R&D 10.000 people more than 40 sites, how to support digital and agile capability growth across R&D, starting with Digital health teams and SET-1 leadership teams, and subsequently into key functions with high change based on digital health solutions.
* Work with global enterprise Digital capability team in HR, to make sure usage of global solutions across SET
* Build and lead a team of change & L&D expertise that will for example partner with the value stream leads and R&D functional leaders, develop a learning and development strategy, design and oversee an overall change management plan measuring effectivness of interventions and improvment. The team will also design training resulting in a high quality and innovative learner experience and lead vendor selection and oversee content development.
* In partnership with the Product Manager's guild and Value Stream leaders, allocate resources to Digital Health initiatives to maximise efficiency and value.
* Develop a network with other L&D/change resources across AZ and lead cross R&D/programme initiatives
* Member of Product Manager Guild-maximising synergies between initiatives and ensuring linkage across the portfolio to create a high-quality user experience
* Participate in implementation readiness and post implementation reviews
Essential for the role:

* Significant experience of training and development in a global, multi-cultural environment, for very large teams and many locations >1000 FTEs in more than 10 locations
* Significant Experience of working in change/transformation projects in a global complex organisation with proven benefit realisation
* Strong leadership skills, influencing and communication skills
* Pharma experience
* Solid strategic thinking and ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
* Experience of innovative and creative learning & training techniques
* Experience of vendor selection and management, budget management
* Customer focus-internal and external customers
* Strong bias for action and results
* Integrity and trust-unwavering commitment to "doing the right thing"
