hela Sverige Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
By developing the world's best engines, we are contributing to Scania's shift towards the most sustainable transport systems of the future. Would you like to be part of that development?
The Engine Gear Train & Auxiliary Units NMDT group consists of 11 employees divided into 3 teams with responsibility for the following technical areas:
• Team Auxiliary Unit - develops air compressors and steering servo pumps
• Team Installation - responsible for installation of air compressors
• Team Transmission - develops engine transmission for auxiliary unit driving
At NMDT, we value an open, relaxed work climate where cooperation, diversity and job satisfaction are high on the agenda. The teams work independently, but also help one another on interface issues or if we need to pool resources to solve technical challenges.
We are currently involved in an exciting and intensive period of design and testing of engines for the engine platform of the future that will be common to the entire TRATON group and external customers. We therefore need to strengthen the Team Installation with another development engineer.
Your duties
As a Development Engineer within Installation, you will be part of a team together with two designers and one test engineer. You will be responsible for the design of elements for the installation of air compressors, such as silencers, air pipes, coolant pipes and compressor mounts. The work is done in close collaboration with the responsible designers for our air compressors and the layout supervisors for our various engines. Test planning for verification of the design is carried out together and in consultation with the dedicated testing engineer in the team. Modularisation of our articles for various customers and brands will have a central role in our continuing design work.
Your profile
We are looking for someone interested in technology and vehicles. You are a positive, motivated person and find it easy to cooperate with other people, both within and outside of the group, such as layout supervisors, purchasing and production. Your work will include some contact with suppliers within Sweden and abroad. Some limited travel will be required. Your duties will include some planning, so you will need to have organisational skills.
We expect you to have a BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and preferably a few years of experience in design work. Experience of Catia/Enovia would be an advantage.
Scania offers
In addition to career and development opportunities, we can also offer Scania employees other benefits, such as an employee car, performance bonuses, a pension, flexible working hours, lunch at reduced prices and much more. If you live in Stockholm, we offer a direct bus service between Stockholm and Södertälje, the Scania Jobexpress.
