Engine Engineering, today called "Vehicle Propulsion System", has several new engine projects running and more in the pipeline to follow up the success story of our VEA engines as well as adapt for a future combination with electric drive.



The "Base Engine Lower" group is a team of 13 members and part of the Base Engine section within Vehicle Propulsion, Research and Development. The group's overall task is to develop all components in crank system, cylinder blocks as well as gaskets and sealings. Our responsibilities cover everything from design and optimizations to contact with suppliers and manufacturing at the Engine plant.



We are now looking for a technical engineer with a strong focus on project deliveries, problem solving and continuous improvements to take the temporary position as a Design Engineer within in the Crank system. We are offering you a great possibility to develop, get to know our department and gather new experience. The position is temporary, but it may lead to a permanent after the temporary period within the company.



The Crank System team is responsible for this system in all current engines as well as new engine projects. The system includes components such as crank shaft, pulleys, Con-rod and bearings.



As Design Engineer you will be working within all kinds of projects, mainly in the development and industrialization phase of the projects up to production start and aftermarket. You will work together with the team to develop the system and your main responsibilities will be CAD and drawings of the components. Close contact with other areas within VCC Research & Development, purchase, manufacturing and suppliers are necessary. You will report to the Project leaders and Group manager.



Main responsibilities


Plan and drive the work within your area
Develop components and technical solutions according to given technical, quality, time and cost requirements
Create and release technical documentation (requirements, drawings /3D-models etc.)
Plan, report and follow up status of each component's development and verifications testing, internally as well as externally, at suppliers
Initiate and assure corrective actions when deviations occurs
Communicate the status and forecast in the different projects



Required qualifications


M.Sc. or B.Sc. or equivalent education based on relevant work experience
Experience from product development and cross functional work
Good computer skills, CAD and MS Office
Engine knowledge and interest in this field in beneficial
Documented experience of CATIA V5
Fluent in English, written and spoken
Driver's license "B"
