Kongsberg Automotive Ljungsarp site needs reinforcement! Due to a very positive development of our business we need to increase the R&D capacity. The R&D team in Ljungsarp consists of 4 persons and is responsible for the steering column program with related products. The scope of work is design, development and test of the full product range on standard modular- as well as customized tailored solutions. On a regular basis we also work together with our customers and colleagues in Europe, North America and Asia on a global off-highway market.
Design and development Engineer, Steering Columns
Main tasks and responsibilities
• To be design responsible for mechanical and/or electro mechanical products.
• To participate in and/or lead design projects.
• Participate in and control prototype manufacturing.
• To drive the development process.
• To create, maintain and update related 3D and 2D data.
• Create, maintain and update product specifications, based on existing modular program.
• Participate in development and improvement of our work methodology.
• Analyze and interpret customer requirements to determine feasibility of product proposals.
• Maintain relation with internal and external customer engineers working on the product design.
• Establish system design in order to re-use some as building block for other products, and improve the validation cycle.
• Design / validate / launch variants of our modular system to support new sales opportunities.
• Plan and develop experimental test programs, perform testing and write the reports.
• Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
Candidate Profile
• MSc / BSc Engineering degree or similar, with mechanical or mechatronics orientation.
• Good team player.
• Innovative.
• Not afraid of working with own hands (e.g. in prototype/test lab).
• CATIA V5 experience is an advantage.
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Swedish.
