One of the functions within Group IT is the CIO Office, which is the staff function with the task to ensure governance and strategic transformation of IT in Volvo Car Group. Divided between different groups a total of 20-25 individuals work with their own contribution to this assignment.
We are now looking for a Data Privacy Officer who can take on the increasingly and exciting challenges regarding IT and data management. In this role you will oversee all the activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance and adherence to the organisation's privacy policies and procedures globally. These policies cover the collection, use, disclosure and privacy of personal information in compliance with applicable legislation, such as the EU Directive 95/46/EC on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data.
Main responsibilities
• Ensure that the Volvo Car Group has adequate procedures and programs in place to comply with applicable law and internal privacy policies/regulations
• Support the efficient use of corporate information and data for the benefit of our customers
• Monitor the Volvo Car Group's compliance with applicable law and internal privacy policies, directives and guidelines
• Develop and continuously improve privacy directives and guidelines
• Respond to requests for access to and correction of personal information and handle general issues concerning personal information
• Fill the role as privacy officer ("Personuppgiftsombud") for Volvo Car Group
• Develop and create appropriate privacy confidentiality consent forms, authorisation forms and information notices and materials reflecting the Volvo Car Group's organisation, practices and requirements
• Conduct privacy risk assessments
• Lead appropriate training programs and activities for employees
• Monitor systems development and operations for privacy compliance
• Report progress of the privacy program/activities to the Global Compliance Committee
• Establish and administer a process for receiving, documenting and tracking all complaints concerning personal information
Required qualifications
• Education in Law or equivalent experience, with a connection to IT
• Knowledge of relevant data protection laws, regulations and standards and their application
• Understanding of technical requirements for privacy by design, privacy by default and data security
• Experience in policy development and training as well as change management and project management
• Background in compliance, legal or quality assurance
• Industry specific understanding of IT and data management systems to ensure proper security systems are in place to protect personal information
• Ability to carry out inspections, consultations and required documentation
• Organisation and facilitation skills
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
