The Consultant Management team - Let's introduce ourselves
The Consultant Management team is Volvo Cars' experts in the recruitment and management of consultants. The team is in the middle of a transformation journey - we are broadening our scope and strengthening our way of working to fit the future needs of our company.
We are a team of five individuals working with Volvo Cars' HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden as our base. Our focus has up until now been on consultant processes in Sweden, but in the upcoming year, we will start supporting business functions in other countries as well.

We are partners with hiring managers throughout the consultant recruitment process and provide our company with the right external competence at the right time. The team is part of the Talent Acquisition department at central People Experience (HR) in Sweden. We collaborate with many different stakeholders such as Procurement, Digital (IT), Recruitment, business unit management teams, People Experience business partners, managers and external suppliers.

What you will do
As our Consultant Management Negotiations Lead you will be leading our work with supplier negotiations on the individual consultant level. You will challenge submitted rate levels and have continuous dialogues with our suppliers concerning consultant rates. You will work with supporting our biggest consultant purchasing functions with setting consultant strategies and price levels - all to support Volvo Cars in buying the right competencies for our business, at the right price.

You will work closely with Procurement, local management teams and representatives from People Experience (PX), as well as collaborating with your team members in the Consultant Management team.

As a member of our team you are expected to take an active role in driving our transformation and to be an ambassador for us. Apart from the negotiations lead you will also work with our daily operations in SAP Fieldglass. We also think you have an interest and curiosity towards developing our ways of working.

Your main responsibilities:
• Negotiating individual consultant rates submitted by suppliers in the vendor management system SAP Fieldglass
• Review and screen consultant candidates based on quality, competence level and relevance for available job postings at Volvo Cars
• Have continuous dialogues with suppliers via phone, email and physical meetings in Swedish and English. You build relations, secure quality, challenge suppliers who do not live up to our standards, make agreements and similar.
• Gather information and data from suppliers and collaborate with Procurement and business functions to develop supplier strategy
• Set and follow up on KPIs for the consultant management negotiation area

In addition, you will contribute to our team deliveries:
• Secure customer and stakeholder satisfaction - ensure that you meet the needs of Volvo Cars' managers and hiring functions
• Maintain and develop our service and identify continuous improvement initiatives
• Managing and overseeing consultant staffing processes and strategies
• Arrange training for managers to introduce them to consultant management and our processes

What you'll bring
To succeed in this role you have a good understanding of the consultant industry, rate strategies and negotiations. You are experienced in driving negotiations and communicating with stakeholders. You feel comfortable expressing yourself in a professional way in both Swedish and English, in oral conversations and written text.

You also have:
• A good understanding of engineering competencies. Most likely you have a background as a consultant manager and/or recruiter and you bring experience from recruitment in technical areas such as software engineering, UX, data science, design and product engineering
• An interest and capacity to work with challenging negotiations
• Experience working in digital tools such as Microsoft Teams

It is beneficial if you have:
• Knowledge of the IT and software area
• Project management experience
• Experience working in SAP Fieldglass or other vendor management systems
