Control System Diesel Engines is our group within the section Powertrain Control System. We have the overall HW and SW responsibility for Volvo Car Group's diesel powertrain related control modules. Using progressive technology and engineering, we are active and responsible during all stages of the product development process; ranging from the advanced engineering through concept phase, industrialisation and post production quality support. Volvos vision is to develop cars in a more simulated and theoretical environment. In our team we deliver quality assured Engine Control Unit Software and Hardware to the Diesel engine projects. We are 15 colleagues in a high performing and well functioning group.
As a Component Responsible Software you will be managing the software for an engine project. The position includes a variety of Powertrain SW development and project management phases, covering technical content, planning and cost. The position is a key function for managing the SW for Volvo Car Group Powertrains and involves an extensive network to many functions in the company and our international suppliers.
Main responsibilities
• Software project management
• Quality assurance within the software area
• Responsible for developing plans, technical content, implementation and cost
Required qualifications
• University degree (M.Sc) or equivalent documented work experience
• Experience from project planning and project management
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Driver's license (B-level)
• Good technical knowledge in electronic systems. Powertrain and embedded systems is meritorious
• An asset would be experience in Lean management
• Good knowledge in Japanese is meritorious
Personal qualities
• High degree of self motivation and interpersonal skills
• Openness, embracing change and strong team work skills
• Good in expressing yourself written and orally, as well as presentation skills
• Team player with the ability to take initiatives and structure your work
