Commodity Buyer of Operating Fluids is a unique position within VOLVO Purchasing. You will be working with the largest companies in the world and be part of the technical evolution of the automotive use of fluids (oil, fuel, etc..). It is also a position where you are responsible of the complete spend of a product, i.e. both the direct material and the service part volumes combined.
You will have a regional purchasing responsibility which will focus on areas such as: optimizing the supplier base, securing competitive and quality secured agreements, developing best practice purchasing processes, benchmarking and reporting with the aim to drive continuous improvement within the segment.
An important part of the job is also to interact and collaborate with other parts of the Volvo Group and represent purchasing in related key stakeholder forums. Since you are responsible of both direct and service market, the focus will not only be to develop and ensuring implementation of a global purchasing strategy, you will as well work close with all brands (Trucks, Bus, VCE and Penta) in order to maximize the profit. This mean you need to understand the marketing and sales strategy of the products.
Responsibilities
• Manage the segments from a strategic and regional purchasing perspective
• Develop and optimize segment strategy and purchasing process to support Volvo's strategic objectives
• Strengthening Volvo's competitive advantage by understanding the business needs and the supplier market
• Manage and develop the supplier base for Operating Fluids, using categorization, segmentation, evaluation, etc. in order to establish the appropriate levels of relationship
• Prepare and report Key Performance Indicators development to key stakeholders
• Lead or support large/regional/global sourcing projects or ad-hoc purchases within the segment
• Manage networks for the Operating Fluids area (direct purchasing, internal stakeholders, suppliers, etc.)
• Drive synergies and share best practices within the Volvo Group
• Be the purchasing center of expertise for Operating Fluids purchasing within the Volvo Group

Overall Requirements
• Master of Science or Business Administration
• Excellent spoken and written English (Additional languages are given merit)
• Experience within Operating Fluids is considered as a benefit but not a must
• Experience of working with Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
• Project management knowledge and/or Purchasing experience is required
• International experience is meriting
• Motivated by change management and ability to drive change
Education
1st choice: MSc degree in Business and/or Engineering/ Supply Chain
