As COO you are overall responsible for the Operations and Customer Service organization consisting of 3 locations (Denmark, Sweden and Russia) and approximately 120 employees.

You drive customer centricity, productivity, and cost leadership throughout the Operations and Customer Service organization. You have a strong focus on service delivery, service quality and service attitude to ensure we deliver on our promises to the satisfaction of our customers - consistently and across the area and across time.

You drive an organizational mindset of continuous improvement and develop a strong team of leaders and customer service colleagues.

You contribute to the growth of our business via
o Embedding customer centricity in the organization
o Increasing productivity and cost leadership
o Driving additional sales of transactional products to existing customers
o Building and inspiring a merchant mindset
o Proactive input to product development

As a leader, you drive and role model a winning team behavior characterized by ownership taking, knowledge sharing, opportunity seeking and genuine care for colleagues and customers

You continuously strengthen and develop organizational competencies and leadership by providing functional leadership to the customer service offices across the area and as such you are responsible for ensuring the required operational capability of the operations and customer service teams.

You manage a team of 5-7 direct reports located in Sweden, Denmark and Russia and develop the Customer Service Organisation colleagues and talent pipeline in the area to be a positive differentiator for Damco both now and in the future.

You drive a mindset of continuous improvement across all aspects of the role using relevant tools from Lean and agile toolboxes.

As Area COO you are member of the senior Area leadership team and will report directly into the Area CEO. In this role you contribute to wider decision making including the development of practices, processes and procedures within the Area. You are also member of the regional COO function leadership team through which you will be expected to contribute to the Customer Service and Operation agenda for Europe.

The position can be located in Denmark or Sweden.

Our preferred candidate is a seasoned executive and leader of others with a minimum of 7 to 10 years of senior management experience ideally gained within the international Logistics/Supply Chain management and/or global cargo transportation industries.

The ideal candidate comes with:
Experience with functions such as customer service, operations, program management, procurement, continuous improvement, process management, project management, HSSE, Solution Engineering, and Implementation.

Ability to drive execution across multiple COO disciplines across the area while ensuring a constant focus on customer satisfaction

Experience with driving automation and offshoring as means of improving productivity

Strong leadership skills and proven experience with either leading leaders or functional leadership.

Ability to work effectively across a global matrix environment with the agility to be resourceful, creative, and maintain flexibility to engage multiple parties across functions and geographies

Fluency in English. Skills in Swedish, Danish and/or Russian language is preferred.
