Scania Finans has a loan financing portfolio of SEK 16 billion, the largest financing company within SFS. The company has about 90 employees, half of which are located at the head office in Södertälje.
We are now looking for a Chief Accountant with a true passion for business who can contribute to the development and strengthening of our team! The finance function at Scania Finans consists of a team of financial controllers and a team of business controllers who work closely together to support the management and sales organization with reports and analysis. This task demands qualitative, timely and relevant financial information.
Job summary
In this position, you will be responsible for a team of currently 5 dedicated financial controllers and the accounting and reporting for the seven markets within Scania Finans handling all the financial aspects, including financial reporting, financial control, taxes and VAT, accounts payable, accounts receivable as well as the analyze of the financial statements together with financial reporting to local statutory bodies and financial statements to several other stakeholders. The Chief Accountant reports to the Finance Manager of Scania Finans.
The main responsibilities of Chief Accountant:
• Co-ordinate and manage the work of the Financial Controllers and the work related to the 7 branches
• Develop and operate the accounting structures
• The performance of the book closing and related analysis with Monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting - timely and with the right quality
• Reporting to local fiscal and tax authorities including VAT
• VAT / tax and income tax returns
• Annual report
• Reconciliation of bank and other balance sheet items
• Coordinate and manage the financial statements
• Deviation analysis and cost control
• Continuous development of work routines and processes
• Day to day accounting and reconciliations
• Responsible for contacts with external auditors and authorities
• Participate in change projects regarding new or modified products and services.
Your profile
We are looking for a person with a degree in finance, economics or business administration with preferably about five years' relevant experience from accounting and/or financial control. You have managerial and leadership experience and a solid understanding of Swedish GAAP and taxation. You have a passion for business and a good understanding as well as interest in developing the accounting and reporting department as a true leader as well as the understanding of the local financial conditions within our branches.
Preferred skills and qualifications:
• Business knowledge and experience from a similar role is an advantage
• Managerial and Leadership experience
• Experience in financial group reporting
• Knowledge from financial it-systems is seen as a merit
• Good data maturity and an interest in systems and digitization
• Professional fluency in English and Swedish
• Experienced Excel user
• Experience in banking, finance or the insurance business
• Customer orientation and value chain focus
In order to be successful in this role you need to have both social and communicative skills since the position exposes you to both internal and external stakeholders, the management team of SFA, Business control and Group reporting in Sweden, local suppliers, tax authorities, auditors, banks, legal advisors, tax advisors as well as Scania distributors and dealers. You should have the ability to both works independently and as part of a team. You need to be both analytical and open minded when it comes to finding appropriate methods and solutions to problems, as well as an ability to follow and create instructions and processes. You are used to working in an international environment and enjoy working in fast and changing circumstances. A service minded and solution oriented attitude is something we place great value in.
