As the Chemistry Scientist for 10xGenomics you are an exceptional scientist with a strong background in oligonucleotide chemistry to drive the new research and product development efforts at our Stockholm R&D facility, with an emphasis on spatial genomics.
You have a degree in chemistry, a broad understanding of next generation sequencing, and a proven track-record of developing novel molecular biology assays for solving complex biological problems. You are driven by making great products and enjoy working in a truly multi-disciplinary environment.
You will be working within a great team of about 25 people in Stockholm which continues to grow rapidly. Everybody is motivated to work together for researching and developing the next generation of in situ analysis technology in a highly interdisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conceive and develop novel assay schemes for use of 10x Genomics technology platforms, with emphasis on spatial transcriptomics and in situ assays.
Plan and perform systematic workflow and reagent optimization by modeling, identification of limiting steps and use of formal design of experiment (DOE) approaches.
Contribute biochemistry expertise and leadership to cross-disciplinary product development teams.
Work closely with computational biologists to interpret data generated by novel and optimized assay schemes.
Work closely with process development staff to develop quality control and manufacturing strategies for novel or optimized reagents.
Required Skills and Background:
PhD in chemistry, biochemistry or a related field with a minimum of 1 year post-graduate experience in academia and/or industry.
Extensive knowledge of oligonucleotide and nucleotide modifications and their biological properties
Demonstrated ability to design, synthesize, purify, and characterize oligonucleotides and related novel compounds.
Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment.
A strong desire to build game-changing technologies and impact the world of life science research
Desired Skills and Background:
Strong background in molecular biology and proven ability to design novel molecular biology assay schemes, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, published patents or launched products.
Experience developing high-throughput assays based on next generation sequencing.
Experience in spatial transcriptomics, in situ RNA or protein assays or other technologies for analysis of complex tissues.
Experience in single-cell genomics, functional genomics or immunology.
