CAE Engineer Vehicle Safety
As a CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) Engineer you will perform virtual simulations of vehicle crash performance, analyzing and evaluating occupant protection and structural performance. You will actively take part in cross-functional teams to propose and evaluate technical solutions to ensure that Volvo vehicles meet our high safety standards and maintain our leadership in Safety. As a CAE Engineer you will be responsible for virtual simulations within our ongoing projects were you will have regular contact with engineers from physical testing and the product development departments. You will also participate in method development assignments and system requirement setting. You report directly to the Manager of Front Impact and Occupant Safety.
The Safety Analysis section within Volvo Cars Safety Centre is responsible for evaluation of crash performance in our current and future cars. The analysis work is based on results from both physical testing and virtual simulations. The section is divided into three groups; Frontal Impact, Side Impact & Pedestrian and Rear impact & External customers testing.
Within Research and Development (R&D) the employees are responsible for the development of Volvo Car Corporation's car program. Our daily work includes transforming ideas into innovation to meet the high standards of future vehicles. We use the latest technologies and advanced methods to develop the safest car in the world whilst maintaining our devotion to the environment, offering our customers a genuine driving experience. Job profile:
• Create and develop virtual simulation models
• Perform simulations and analysis based on results
• Participate in development of technical solutions
• Participate in cross-functional development teams
• Participate in method development
Your profile:
• M.Sc. Engineer or equivalent by work experience within automotive
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Experience of CAE analysis, preferably within the Automotive industry
• Skills in Dyna, Ansa and Animator software.
