Vehicle Dynamics & Active Safety Centre is a department within Active Safety & Chassis responsible for the development and verification of Vehicle Dynamics & Active Safety Functions. Active Safety CAE section supports the development of Active Safety at Volvo Car Group through computer-aided engineering (CAE).
As a CAE Engineer Active Safety you will develop CAE models, methods and tools to minimise physical testing. You will also use CAE tools to simulate AS function performance, analyse the simulation results and make recommendations for improvements. Together with function developers, test engineers and other CAE specialists cooperate towards common goals. In this position you will be presenting project status and analysis results for line and project management as well as document results in reports.
Main responsibilities
• Mathematical modelling and analysis
• Evaluation of sensor and function performance by means of CAE
• Process and method development
• Conducting research in the area of Active Safety
Required qualifications
• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Automotive Engineering, or equivalent, with emphasis in Active Safety
• Proficient in modeling using Simulink
• Documented experience in the field of Active Safety, notably in CAE
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Driver's License
• Working experience from Volvo Car Group is meritorious
• Experience in using modeling, animation, and rendering tools is meritorious
• An asset would be experience on image processing analysis, and machine vision is meritorious
• Experience from sensors as camera, radar and ultrasonic is meritorious
Personal qualities
• Good communication skills
• Self-motivated and analytical
• Ability to establish and develop network
