Powertrain Mounts is a group within Powertrain and has responsibilities of areas such as isolating the body from powertrain movements and road excitations, limit the powertrain movements within the allowed packaging space and to keep function and efficiency during vehicle lifetime. Our products have a strong influence on the cars' characteristics in regards to drivability, ride comfort, noise and vibration.
As CAE Engineer you will be responsible for making the specification of rubber parts. The specification needs to reach the best balance between several different attribute areas and also the project targets. The balance between attribute areas are made by a Multi Disciplinary Optimisation (MDO) process which has been developed by Volvo Car Group. The attribute we balancing between in CAE are Noise Vibration and Harshness, Drivability, Ride comfort and Durability.
Main responsibilities:
• Perform calculations
• Make agreements regarding specification with attribute areas
• To support Volvo Car Group Design engineers in discussion with suppliers
• Continue develop the MDO process
Required qualifications:
• M.Sc Mechanical Engineering equivalent knowledge obtained by working experience
• General competence of programming and scripting
• Experience of Adams, Matlab, Phyton, Mode frontier, Excel or similar are meritorious
• Experience of rubber components is an asset
• Experience of Engine or wheel suspension is meritorious
• Experience in Attribute NVH, Driveability,Ride comfort is an asset
• Knowledge / experience of structural calculation / strength calculation is an asset
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Driver's license
