hela Sverige You are interested in Product Development in general and passionate in Simulation and Analysis. You will be part of a very experienced and high-performing simulation & analysis team working within many different CAE areas. Your main role and responsibility is to perform advanced strength and fatigue analyses by help of Finite Element Method (FEM). You build FE-models, perform simulations, analyse, evaluate and communicate results. You always strive for method improvement and development.
FEM simulations are crucial to secure sufficient durability of the engine and complete drive system for both marine and industrial application. Your work will be challenging with a various types of simulations (mechanical strength, fatigue analyses - HCF, LCF and TMF, modal analyses, harmonic response analyses and PSD analyses etc.).
The main CAE tools to use are ADINA as finite element solver, ANSA for pre-processing, META-Post for post-processing and FEMFAT for fatigue evaluations.
You have excellent skills in analysis, great knowledge in mechanical engineering and powertrain experience. You enjoy working in a team and have ability to inspire colleagues around you. The academic degree needed is M.Sc. within the field of mechanical engineering or similar. You have experience in FEA. Skills in ADINA or similar FE-solver (ANSYS, ABAQUS, NASTRAN) are required. Earlier experiences in ADINA is however meritorious and knowledge in the other CAE tools mentioned above is desirable. Your CV should contain listed qualifications in academic degrees and work experience. Fluent communication in both English and Swedish.
The CAE department at Volvo Penta consists of 15 skilled engineers working within all CAE areas (FEA, CFD, MBD, TVC, Acoustics, 1-D performance and Vehicle simulations). The advantage sitting together in one CAE team is obvious with respect to communication, collaboration and CAE synergies. We continuously develop and improve our methods and way of working. We use modern commercial CAE software's and powerful hardware to meet the high set demands.
