hela Sverige In the Base Engine purchasing team there is now an open position as a buyer within the moving parts commodity. The Buyer will be located in Gothenburg.
Our team is working cross functionally with product development, manufacturing and after market in order to optimize the quality, cost and delivery precision of our global suppliers. For the right candidate we will be able to offer a segment leadership for this strategic purchasing portfolio.
The buyer we are looking for has solid experience and proven track record, preferably from the automotive industry.We look for candidates ready to take on strategic portfolios with a global responsibility and able to deliver world-class purchasing performance. We will especially consider candidates with proven ability and mindset to develop into management positions over the coming years.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for a purchasing portfolio of Moving Parts 2 components
Support product development and product modifications in the portfolio
Perform the activities required for the portfolio: sourcing, negotiations, optimization of total cost, requisition handling and ordering, tooling investments etc
Support projects, in-house and at internal customers
Support in developing and implementing strategies
Report and forecast commercial and technical rationalizations
Search for opportunities to improve the items cost and take action to implement them
Contribute to the achievement to the global KPI?s by implementing strategies and cost saving activities
Utilize the benefit of co-operation with other Volvo Group companies
Manage day-to-day site operations within quality, projects, cost reductions, delivery and supplier relations
Qualifications:
University degree in Engineering and/or Business/Economics
Probably min 3 years purchasing experience, preferably from the automotive industry
A pro-active attitude and good prioritization skills
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
An analytic nature and good skills in computer systems including MS Office
The position requires that you are a team player and a self-starter, with the ability to take initiative and actively participate in or coach different projects
We expect you to have a positive attitude and a result oriented approach, good interpersonal skills and that you enjoy doing business
The suitable candidate finds leadership interesting and has the interest and ability to grow long term with Volvo
