hela Sverige Would you like to help manage relationships with the startup investment community, and help influence decision making towards utilizing Amazon Web Services (AWS) as the basis for their portfolio companies' infrastructure? Do you have the business savvy, the technical insight, and the background necessary to mesh with the startup and venture capital (VC) ecosystem and help further establish AWS as the leader in the cloud computing space?
Description of Tasks:
As a Business Development Manager (BDM) within the AWS business, you will have the exciting opportunity to help shape mind share and broad use of the AWS cloud computing platform within the startup community. You will be responsible for supporting the relationship with VCs and key startup organizations. This includes identifying appropriate VCs to target, initiate discussions with the VCs and their portfolio companies to help establish new business in those accounts, and to work closely with the AWS teams to help drive the day-to-day interactions with the portfolio companies in order to contribute to build long-term business opportunities. You'll also work closely with various AWS teams such as strategic corporate development, business development, product management and marketing teams, supporting strategic initiatives that tie in to the startup community. The ideal candidate will possess both a business background that enables them to support an engagement and interact at the CxO/VP level, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact with software developers and architects. He/she should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and scrappiness is a must.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Serve as a key member of the development team in helping to drive overall AWS market and technical strategy.
• Identify key VCs with portfolio companies that have infrastructure needs, and support engagement with those VCs.
• Execute and comply with the strategic business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders . Work closely with VCs and their portfolio companies to help ensure they are successfully using the AWS services, making sure they have the technical resources required.
• Understand and exploit the use of Salesforce and other internal Amazon systems.
• Prepare and give business reviews to the AWS senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to establishing new VC engagements.
• Support a high volume of engagements and the fast pace of the cloud computing market . Experience with account management (Enterprise, SMB and startup) and solution selling ability
Description of Qualifications:
• Significant experience working for a VC, Accelerator/Incubator or startup(s). Our most successful BDMs have prior startup experience as a founder (most have raised VC and have achieved successful exits) and/or have worked at a venture capital firm.
• Demonstrated credibility in the startup community and significant knowledge of the VC space.
• The right person will be technical and analytical, and possess substantial business development or program/product management experience.
• Juris Doctorate Required
