Business controller
Sobi is preparing for the commercial launches of the company’s first products within the Haemophilia Therapeutic Area, which, in just a few years, are expected to grow to become the major profit contributors of the company. The importance of succeeding with these launches cannot be underestimated.

Therefore we are now strengthening the business controller team with a full-time controller position dedicated to supporting the Haemophilia Therapeutic Area. The successful candidate will belong to the Business Control team, which is a HQ function, but with a primary focus to be part of and work closely with the Haemophilia Therapeutic Area team. This will be through providing financial management and business control support in a wide scope of matters.

The main areas of responsibility are to:

• Work closely with the Head of Haemophilia and the Haemophilia management team providing financial support and guidance in commercialisation and business matters.

• Interact frequently with the Haemophilia organization and its team members across all Sobi affiliates to support execution of commercialisation strategies at country level.

• Liaise with R&D, Supply Chain, Finance and other functions to ensure smooth collaboration so that the unit’s business objectives are met in an efficient way.

• Challenge the Haemophilia management team and affiliates to improve business performance and be a driver of improvement initiatives.

• Offer creative and diverse solutions to improve business performance and highlight opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives.

• Act as a central coordination point for all financial aspects of business cases and development initiatives, ensuring appropriate level of quality.

• Co-lead the development of the LRP and Haemophilia Business Cases with the Haemophilia Commercial Lead, Core Products.

• Lead, train and develop the financial planning processes for the unit, such as forecasting, budgeting and long-range planning.

• Lead and coordinate finance related activities with external partners, including preparation of partner reports as well as handling and review of received reports.

• Lead, train and develop robust financial processes where relevant for the therapy area to meet Sobi requirements.

• Produce management reports and analyses including commentary of business performance in a timely manner.

• Manage monthly financial close activities to ensure proper closing of books, e.g. cut-off for sales and costs.

• Work closely with the Haemophilia TA management team in ad-hoc projects.

• Be an active member of the HQ business control team, participating also in finance related processes and projects, e.g. the budget process.

Qualifications

Education/Learning Experience/Work Experience

You have a university degree in Finance and you are an experienced business controller with at least 5-10 years work life experience as a business controller supporting commercial operations. You have a firm understanding of accounting such as accruals, valuation and reporting principles.

Experiences from finance positions in commercial operations are required, where experience from the pharmaceutical industry is highly valued. You have also experience from working in an international environment supporting several countries, where experience from HQ or business unit positions, managing finance responsibilities on European level, are considered positive. Experiences from pan-European launch activities are not required but considered valuable.

Other elements considered as positive are experiences from budgeting, forecasting and change management processes together with experiences from working in IFS and Cognos systems.

Skills/Knowledge/Languages

You take great interest in the commercialisation side of operations and have strong business acumen at the same time as you fully understand and assume the responsibilities of the unit’s finance representative. You have an entrepreneurial approach at the same time as you are able to work in a structured manner, providing clear guidance to others. You have a mature personality with the ability to make an impact and influence decision making on high as well as low level.

You have strong communication skills in English, oral and written. Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills are required together with a structured approach to work and strong analytical skills. Experience from working with large databases, drawing analyses from large sets of data is also positive.

Personal Attributes

You are a strong team player as you will need to interact intensively both inside Sobi and with partners. You like, at the same time, to work independently taking full ownership of own responsibility areas. You have a proactive approach to work with a genuine interest in challenging and developing the business.
