We're looking for a Backend/Full-stack Engineer to join our Developer Platform Team - Who makes sure that working at Volvo Car Mobility as an engineer is not only safe but also fun and productive. Together with the rest of the team, you'll support our engineers with having the right environment, processes, and tools in place to be able to be as efficient as possible in their day-to-day work. You'll also help improve our general technical platform by doing research on what's needed and finding creative solutions in order for us to have the best possible developer experience.
Your engagement here will include but won't be limited to:
Together with the team, you'll be responsible for developing the platform our developers use to build reliable, secure, and scalable software systems in Volvo Car Mobility's infrastructure. You'll collaborate closely with other teams to understand their challenges and evolve the platform together in order to improve developer experience and productivity. This includes monitoring the operating environments; responding to incidents, and problems, and planning for growth.
You show experience with most of the following...
3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, preferably focusing on Developer Experience
Programming experience in an object-oriented language such as Java or Kotlin
(We use Kotlin)
Worked in a continuous delivery environment
Previously worked in a Platform/Developer Experience team
Experience working with web application frameworks like Spring or Dropwizard (we use Spring Boot)
CI/CD Pipelines
Acting as the bridge between infra and developers
Interest in infrastructure and DevOps culture
Extra awesome if you have:
Experience with platforms such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Experience in building tools such as Maven or Gradle (we use Maven)
Experience with GraphQL
An interest in security topics and the ability to teach best practices
Enjoy exploring new technologies
Enjoy cross-team collaboration work
Enjoy documenting instructions, tips, and tricks in a pedagogical way
