The scope
In line with the Sandvik Coromant Strategy, the ambition of the Automation Platform department is to further drive operational excellence in our global R&D organization and meet the increasing need for even more automation, flexibility, and speed using, for example, continuous integration and deployment. We develop and support programming platforms to enable domain experts with limited programming knowledge to automate the chain of complex designs, drawings, production instructions, and product pricing. As another example of our current automation platform, we can allow an end customer to specify a variant of a product to a unique size and configuration that has never been produced before. The platform can also give the end-user a delivery date within minutes after checking for a suitable production site and capacity. When the customer completes the purchase, one of our multiple global production units could start producing this never-before-produced product within an hour without any manual intervention.
Your mission
To contribute building a world class Automation Platform to allow our Automation Engineers to quickly and easily build programs to create CAD-models, CAM-programs, and other product-related data to support our vast and complex product assortment. You have a key position in our mission to further utilize our DevOps in creating a framework and defining working methods for Automation Engineers, as well as helping them deploy their programs as containerized applications. In your hands-on work with software development, you will also collaborate with relevant IT-services as well as conduct training and support for users.
About you
We're looking for someone with a bachelor's or master's degree in Software Engineering with an interest and experience in mechanical Engineering. Experience with Azure DevOps, Kubernetes/Docker or any Container methodology is a great advantage - however for us the most important thing is that you're eager to learn and develop within the area. As we work in a truly international setting, it's essential to have good English skills in both speaking and writing.

Showing an independent doer's attitude with a curious approach, you demonstrate an ambitious and determined mindset, delivering results and keeping structure throughout the processes. As this position involves frequent contact with various stakeholders, you must be communicative and able to share your knowledge with others.
