Metso Minerals (Sweden) AB in Sala , featuring app. 240 employees, works with international projects in mineral processing systems and has the product responsibility for the Process Equipment and Slurry Pump product lines. We also have a manufacturing unit for the Slurry Pump product line.
In our Electrical and Automation Engineering department we are working with complete solutions within electrical and automation design to our clients and projects worldwide. The task consists of hardware and software design of control systems for our different types of process equipment for the mining business worldwide.
We are looking for an Automation Engineer with focus on PLC/HMI programming. You will be a member of a project team and you will follow the product from draft to on-site commissioning.
In this position your tasks will include to:
• Make sure to maintain the standard program for each individual machine type.
• Conduct constant improvement of the application software programs.
• Identify customer needs and implement them in the application software programs.
• Participate in the supervision, commissioning and start-up of Process Equipment.
• Be responsible for completing FAT of the control panels.
• Lead training sessions for client personnel.
• Be responsible, on a project level, for the functionality of the control system on a standard machine but also on implementing customer special requirements.
Travelling (both domestic and international) may be required as needed.
To be successful in this role, you will have a technical background with a high school or university degree in Electrical studies. Very good skills in PLC programming in one or more of the following systems: Allen Bradley, (RsLogix5000), Siemens and good experience from HMI system and serial communication is also essential.
Experience working with Metso Automation (DNA) or similar Functional Block Programming is desirable.
It is also essential that you are a team player with strong relationship building and communication skills. You will have a good command of English, written and verbal.
