Duties and responsibilities
The specific research focus for the position is prosumerism, particularly and ideally with a specialization that can be linked to the electric utility industry. The term "prosumption" is a merging of production and consumption and today has the meaning that the consumer is actively involved in a business process. Besides contributing to the establishment of prosumer research as a new field of research at Örebro University, other important duties and responsibilities include applying for external research funding, promoting internationalization and collaboration. Moreover, the associate senior lecturer will in addition contribute to teaching and education development at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Eligibility
Those qualified for appointment as an associate senior lecturer are candidates who have been awarded a doctoral degree or have the corresponding research competence. Priority should be given to candidates who have been awarded their doctoral degree or acquired the corresponding competence no more than five years before the application deadline. Candidates who have obtained their doctoral degree prior to that should also be considered, if special grounds exist. Such grounds may comprise leave of absence due to illness, parental leave, or other similar circumstances.
Assessment criteria
In assessing whether an applicant is qualified for the appointment as associate senior lecturer, the extent to which his or her skills and expertise correspond to the eligibility requirements will be evaluated. In the appointment process, equal attention will be paid to the assessment of research expertise as to the assessment of other qualifications required to meet the eligibility requirements. The applicant's research expertise shall be demonstrated through independent research contributions. The educational expertise and qualifications shall be well-documented and accounted for in a teaching portfolio.
We welcome personal skills and abilities such as an ability to cooperate, power of initiative, as well as an interest in course development and educational development work.
The candidate should have a strong background in the field of network strategizing and industrial marketing with a strong interest in the demand-side perspective on the buyer-seller relationship, and with demonstrated, high-quality research and relevant teaching experience in business network, supply chain, industrial marketing, business-to-business strategy, purchasing and/or related fields. Ideally, the applicant should have prior knowledge and experience from prosumer research and/or from research on network strategizing with a focus on the buyer's/demand-side perspective.
The applicant should also be open-minded, well-organized and innovative, with a high capacity for analytical and theoretical thinking. As the applicant will be working in close collaboration with existing and future industry partners, as well as with researchers both nationally and internationally, it is very important that the applicant has high social competence, network skills, and the ability to cooperate and co-produce knowledge. As the intended future head of a new field of research at the university, the applicant should also show potential to independently design and carry out projects. Since the research center aims at becoming more international and diversified, working experience from universities outside of Sweden is desirable but not mandatory.
Good communication skills, in speech and in writing, in English is mandatory.
