GTP is located in 52 sites around the world, has 1 300 employees and a yearly spend of 120 BSEK. We have 2,550 suppliers in serial production that delivers 1,9 billion parts to Group Truck plants annually. This is us: Adaption Parts Team Europe
In our team, we are currently looking for our new star - an Adaption Parts Buyer! We want you to join our European team where we support service parts purchasing, vehicle adaption purchasing and we aim at building strong purchasing synergies amongst various Purchasing organization of the Volvo Group.
Our team of Adaptation - Parts (10 people) is leading all purchasing activities with internal and external stakeholders to secure adaptation vehicle offers for Volvo trucks and Renault trucks. We are a dynamic continental team of buyers located in Sweden and France on 5 sites.
This is what you will do
As our new Adaption Parts Buyer, you will effectively manage and develop our purchasing portfolio and the daily working relationship with your suppliers. You will also execute purchasing activities including sourcing in Customer Adaption & Special Vehicle Projects in collaboration with the Purchasing Project Manager to secure QDCF-TSR performance in the projects.
Furthermore, you will:
Search for opportunities to improve cost and take action to implement findings
Continuously assess the business climate and conditions affecting assigned supplier base
Develop existing and potential suppliers. Perform purchasing activities related to production orders, logistics and financial flows to suppliers
Secure that purchasing acts in accordance with expectations from internal stakeholders and external customers
Secure and negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers
Strive to increase the sales by offering supplier concept to the trucks brands
Define strategies for the segments in the scope
Contribute to the development of the Purchasing process for customer specific offering business (Customer Adaptation & Special Vehicle)
Be active in the team development and support your colleagues
Our Adaption Parts Buyer will report to the Group Manager Adaption - Parts and be located in Gothenburg, Sweden or Lyon, France. This role also requires occasional travels.

This is you
We believe that you, as our new Adaption Parts Buyer, have a positive attitude with a service minded and a target oriented approach. Your team spirit, business acumen and ability to lead make you a strong candidate for this role. Other qualifications are:
University degree in Business, Engineering or related field
2+ years' experience in Purchasing and/or negotiation experience in a supplier/customer relationship, with a proven track record
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Multicultural experience is an asset
Thinking out of the box and challenge borders are assets
