We are now looking for a Video Analytics Engineer to join our Analytics & Systems team within our Research and Development department.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As a Video Analytics Engineer you will be part of the innovative Analytics competence group within Core Technologies. The team plans and develops advanced image processing algorithms for network devices, to be on the market within five years. It delivers a wide range of video analytics functionality, at both low and high system levels. Algorithms are mainly developed in embedded C or hardware together with other Core Technology teams. The team is furthermore responsible for the infrastructure required to integrate analytics in Axis embedded platforms and SDK for use by external or internal partners. The team’s main focus is to develop algorithms to continue our successful analytics strategy for network video surveillance. Your main responsibilities will be to participate in this work and support the team with best practices in software development.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Software design for re-usability and testability
• Development of video analytics code libraries for use by 3rd party developers.
• Algorithm development for analytics applications within computer vision and audio analysis etc., this also includes integration into product platforms
• Researching new analysis technologies for video surveillance.
• Supporting application development in product development projects.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a Video Analytics Engineer that’s good at thinking outside the box. Since cooperation is a crucial part of Axis' success we believe it is important that you are good at working in teams and is open minded. It is also important that you are good at communicating and explaining and that you can contribute to a good and productive working environment where you are willing share your knowledge with others.
Furthermore we believe you have:
• Engineering/Technical Master’s degree or equivalent
• At least 5 years of experience in a relevant field
• Excellent C-programming skills
• Excellent SW-Systemization skills
• Experience of embedded systems programming under Linux
• Good skills in software modularization, module interface design and hardware abstraction techniques
• Knowledge of implications of limited resources in embedded systems on algorithm development
• Knowledge of algorithm development for video analytics
• Excellent skills in Swedish and English written & oral communication required
Knowledge of algorithm development for analytics applications outside the video domain, e.g. audio is considered a merit.
THE ANALYTICS & SYSTEMS TEAM
The Core Technologies – Analytics & Systems team are responsible for the long-term technology agenda within the strategic areas Analytics and Systems. We perform technology road mapping; execute the roadmap by developing technologies and assist toward platform integration of technologies. We also act as a competence center within Axis with regard to the core competence areas. In addition to this we define test methods and standards to be used by Axis as a whole.
The Analytics competence group within Core Technologies – Analytics & Systems focus their work on identifying and implementing technologies aimed at increasing the value of the network for surveillance applications. This includes algorithm development for video analytics, identification of new technology trends and technology development using combinations of sensors for improved analytics.
