Vibration Engineer

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a vibration engineer you will be part of our legacy in ensuring reliable energy generation by supporting ongoing operations and testing of rotating machinery. You will contribute to design augmentation and making our equipment more robust and efficient!

In your role, you will measure, analyze, and verify vibration behavior. You provide support during engine start up, either at a test bed or on site and will receive assistance from our remote monitoring digital twin systems and commissioning engineers on site.



How You'll Make an Impact
* Participate in investigating and resolving engineering and technical discrepancies arising from deviating vibration behavior.
* Have the authority to preside, supervise, and approve the Start-Up of Gas and Steam turbines and offer expertise for our prototype machines and customer units.
* Play a vital role in retaining good customer relations and deliver on the promise of reliability of our machines and services.
* Participate in product improvement workshops by providing feedback to R&D teams that would enable future improvements of our products.
* Conduct hands-on execution of engine preparation activities adhering to technical specifications stated for performing a particular test scheme.



What You Bring
* Minimum Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Thermal, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or similar) OR relevant work experience in operating and maintaining heavy machinery.
* Availability to travel to site as required on short notice. Demonstrated experience of working with electrical distribution systems, control system set up and relevant vital measurement chains from transducer to measurement systems. A familiarity with fluid, mechanical and electrical drawings, and schemes.
* Broad knowledge or interest in rotating/heavy machinery system design, construction, and operation. Awareness or experience in carrying out pre-commissioning and installation activities.
* Curiosity about new technologies and engineering challenges and the willingness to learn and use newly attained knowledge. You show dedication and a problem-solving approach to achieve successful plant start-up by maintaining good interpersonal and self-management skills.
* Good communication skills in English.

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in Sweden without need for sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current sponsorship are eligible for internal transfers.



About the Team

Here you will join a welcoming team within R&D Test - the Measurement, Vibration, Acoustics and Emission department. We are a diverse team with a strong emphasis on work/life balance, group dynamics and learning from each other! You will work close to our products and in collaboration with engaged colleagues internationally specific to this domain. Also, you will have interfaces with R&D Test rig assembly, engineers from Siemens Energy regional sectors, commissioning engineers, field service planning etc

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
