reinsurance, which is a major part of Sirius portfolio, is evaluated in a state
of the art pricing and portfolio management system (GPI). The underwriters and
analysts are using this system during the underwriting process, to price and
monitor their portfolios. The data produced by the system is very large and is
pushed to a reporting environment that has a couple of standardized reports.
The reports are sent internally as well as to White Mountains and our
shareholders.
Within
the system is a lot of data that can be used further to increase understanding
of the portfolio we have and could have, which in turn can help us to identify
more business opportunities in the future. As a Report Team leader you hold a
critical position in identifying such opportunities.
The
report team consists of a couple of report developers and also other
individuals that run the reports and supports in verifications and tests. The
team develops and maintains the data warehouse for the global pricing systems
as well as the reports run from this environment. You will coordinate and
follow up on the work done by the report development team (BI Developers) and
secure good request gathering process from the organization (users, management
and other stakeholders).
Tasks may include:
Coordinate the Report Team consists of 4-5 individuals
spread globally.
You act as an Owner of the Data Quality within the
whole GPI report environment
Develop and maintain all GPI reporting environments to
ensure data quality and that these are aligned with Sirius BI standards
(set by BI Developers Team Lead).
Write guides, train users and support report processes
Understand the business application of reports
(requires a technical understanding of implementing a Data Warehouse in a
Microsoft environment).
Define reports that answer the stakeholder’s questions
(users, management).
Act as the bridge between business and GPI/IT
Review reports from other systems (there are two more
DW-systems) and propose consolidation where applicable
Secure
good communication is made with users, stakeholders and management.
Summary
of experience:
Requirements analyses and system management for BI and
reporting solutions at high level
Experience from conduct test and validation of BI
solution
Statistical knowledge
Preferably knowledge and/or interest about (re-)insurance,
simulation methodologies, natural hazards, and catastrophe modeling
Leadership skills; good track record of leading people
and make the individuals contributing to the team.
Educational
background and previous experience:
You
have an academic degree and an experience of Business Intelligence systems. It
is also very valuable if you have experience in leading project teams and have
understanding of reinsurance. You are used to create reports that support the
organization you are working for.
Swedish is mandatory for the position or you are a based in Stockholm.
