The Position
Expansive Worlds is currently hiring a Vegetation Artist to join our Call of the Wild development team, either in Malmö or Stockholm. As a Vegetation Artist, you will be tasked with crafting beautiful and realistic vegetation that merges seamlessly into our environments and performs efficiently on our game platforms. The ideal candidate must feel comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team, who they will be working with to create astounding, beautiful open worlds. They will be expected to help drive the quality benchmark for the discipline whilst managing their time to match the project's goals. You will work in collaboration with world designers to create plants, flowers, trees and all manner of floral props supporting mission game play and world building. We expect you to take your assets all the way from conceptual mockups to modeling and texturing to final placement in the environment. You will also be responsible for the final functionality of your assets, such as setup of destruction and environment animations.
Required qualifications
• 3+ years experience working on published PC and console titles
• Excellent modeling and texturing skills using Autodesk Maya and Adobe Photoshop
• Experience with physically-based rendering
• A strong reel/portfolio with clearly-documented artistic accomplishments
• A great sense of technical know-how and functional problem-solving
• Passion for making and playing games
Desired qualifications
• Experience with Zbrush
• Experience with Speedtree
• Experience with Allegorithmic Substance Designer and/or Painter.
• Experience with photogrammetric asset creation workflows
• Ability to communicate and realize an artistic vision
