What we are looking for
The Nordics is a focus area for growth in the Uniper strategy. The goal of Business Development Nordics is to decarbonize Uniper's portfolio and grow our business in Sweden to increase revenues from existing and additional solutions. Several initiatives from the international Uniper Group are driven and supported from our Swedish team. The team includes diverse expertise involving energy production (nuclear, hydro, gas turbines, wind, PV, biofuels and electro fuels), storage (electricity, hydrogen) and different market solutions.
You will be responsible for developing growth opportunities and create added value for Uniper Group and to coordinate the business development activities within the Nordic area in close collaboration with Country Chairman Sweden and relevant global Uniper Group functions. You will be part of the Swedish Management Team and the Country Council. As Head of Business Development Nordic you will have a high degree of involvement with external stakeholders, partners, organizations, startups, researchers, inventors etc. and will be representing Uniper in various contexts to drive business development internally and with external partners. Focus is to realize our vision Empower Energy Evolution - towards carbon neutrality - fit for a greener future through business development projects within the Nordic area which contribute to the future sustainable energy system.
You will lead a growing Nordic Business Development team of direct reports while also being responsible for a virtual team of Nordic leaders that belong to different business units (Nuclear, Hydro, Thermal, Global Commodities etc.) driving development projects and/or are acting at the Nordic market to ensure alignment. In addition, you will report and facilitate business development conversations with the Country Chairman, as well as have continuous dialogue with Business Development teams in Düsseldorf. The position is placed in Malmö or Stockholm and traveling will occur on a regular basis.
Your responsibilities will include:
• As part of the Management Team being involved in and contribute to the strategic development of Uniper Sweden
• Monitor the Nordic market, be present and seize new business opportunities when they arise while acting as interface with relevant Uniper functions
• Run the business development activities in collaboration with the functions efficiently with responsibility for the local competence/expertise in the projects
• Work closely with our Corporate Communication and Regulatory Affairs to optimize stakeholder interaction
• Responsibility for having the interface to local support functions (tax, legal, accounting, risk, etc.) in the projects
• Legal responsibility for the Innovation function in Sweden. The Uniper Innovation function is the central corporate entity for the transformation of our company towards a sustainable energy solution provider.
• Legal responsibility for Hydrogen in Sweden. Hydrogen is one of the most important pillars of Uniper's decarbonization strategy and Nordic is a focus area
• Legal responsibility for Uniper Market Solutions (UMS) in Sweden. UMS providing portfolio management services and market information to consumers and producers of energy. Giving customers support and advice on how to optimize their market-linked contracts and portfolios
• Legal responsibility for Asset Strategy in Sweden
Uniper is positive to a flexible approach around remote working based on the conditions of the business and the individual employee.
Uniper is part of Sweden's critical infrastructure, and our operations are covered by, among other things, rules related to protective security, export control and nuclear non-proliferation. We will therefore carry out security clearance of all positions and complement with register control for security classified positions, according to the Protection Security Act. Health and drug tests are performed if applicable.
Who we are seeking
You probably have a Master's degree in a relevant subject (Engineering, Economics, Business and administration or similar). You have at least 10 years of relevant experience and have knowledge concerning business development, stakeholder management and project management. You have a strong business acumen and strategic height, as well as experience and good understanding of the energy sector. As we work in an international environment, you need to be fluent in both Swedish and English.
To be successful in this role you need a strong entrepreneurial mindset with extensive management and decision-making skills. You have a problem-solving mindset, strong negotiation skills, high flexibility and change management experience. You are customer oriented, open-minded and have comprehensive experience with diversity and inclusion. In addition, you have the ability to communicate complex business topics in an international environment.
