At Inbound Logistics, we are part of a global supply team that makes sure that the cars we build meet our customers' highest expectations. To make this happen, we secure that all incoming transportation are designed, established, optimized and executed, cost efficiently and with exact precision, to the entire Volvo Cars organization.
We are now looking for a Transportation Coordinator within the Inbound Logistics Standard Road & Rail Operations team.
We are working together with internal and external stakeholders to find the best-in-class standards, tools, processes, and methods. We are a team of 7 motivated individuals with EMEA responsibility, that is now looking for a colleague to complement and strengthen our group and our transformation journey.

What you will do
At Inbound Logistics Road and Rail Operations together with the the team you will ensure that all production material transported by road and rail will arrive on time and according to plan to our production sites within Europe. You will work both proactive and with problem solving when a deviation is a fact, all to secure the running of Volvo Cars production.
Besides operations you will also work with short- and long-term structural developments together with our carriers, ensuring that they fulfill the contracted performance level to enable us to reach our internal targets. You will take lead in the actions driving performance forward and work close with other functions within VCC.
You will support various Inbound Logistics teams and together you will secure that right prerequisite are set to continuously to run our transport network. Together we secure that all incoming transports are planned, optimized, implemented, and executed, cost efficiently and with exact precision, to the entire Volvo Cars organization.
This role is based in Gothenburg (Sweden) and reports to the Road &Rail Operations Manager EMEA.
Do you fit the profile?
The ideal candidate has a university degree in Supply Chain Management, and minimum 3 years of working experience including rail transportation (international and regional). Automotive experience is preferred.
Experience from working in an international environment and having strong communication skills (effective verbal and written), building relations and trust on all levels is key for the role.
Being proficient and having an interest in managing and analyzing big data sets together with applying statistical methods is preferred. A sharp eye for details both in understanding complex problems, processes as well as numbers is one of your strengths, and the ability to translate all of this into clear and condensed presentations, visual and verbal.
As a person, you are self-driven with strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to achieve results. You are motivated by working in a global organization and in cross functional teams.
