Trading Surveillance Analyst (Student Worker) Nasdaq Stockholm

Why Nasdaq

When you work at Nasdaq, you're working for more open and transparent markets so that more people can access opportunities. Connections can be made, jobs can be created, and communities can thrive. We want all our employees to have access to opportunity, too. That means planning for career growth, ensuring you have the tools you need, and promoting an inclusive culture where we're all valued for our unique perspective.

Here, you will work for a global tech leader committed to breaking down barriers to inclusive prosperity. We see technology as a means to free people up to work together more productively and effectively by centralizing data, analytics, and market intelligence.

Here, we're committed to building a more diverse and inclusive workforce. Not only is it our responsibility to do better, but we also need representative voices to power the fresh thinking that is vital for our business and our clients.

About Us

Surveillance within Nasdaq works to keep our markets fair and efficient by implementing and upholding effective and well-balanced regulations and fairly enforcing our rules. We are at the core of the market places, and we interact with issuers, trading participants, investors, and regulators to build and preserve confidence in our markets. We participate in forming regulations and practices, and we make important decisions to protect investors and uphold orderly trading.

What You Will Do

As a Trading Surveillance Analyst, you will be a part of our Trading & Member Surveillance team in Stockholm. We work closely together with our surveillance and compliance teams in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, and Norway. The team performs real-time and post-trade analysis of trading in all asset classes across the Nordic market places that Nasdaq operates.
Responsibilities:

Perform real-time and continuous analysis of price movements, trading volumes, trading patterns, and news around listed products

Identify suspected market abuse and other forms of breaches of rules

Uphold orderly trading and intervene in trading when vital and when necessary, required to assist in decisions on e.g. trading suspensions or trade cancellations

Help market participants avoid ending up in problematic situations by guiding members and others regarding our practices in different contexts and how to align with exchange regulations

What We Expect

You are a driven and ambitious student who has a genuine curiosity about finance, trading, and investments. Furthermore, you can take the initiative and are not afraid to come up with new insights. We see it as a merit if you have been working in the same business before.

Currently studying Economics or Finance with at least 2 years left to graduation

Basic understanding of trading and investments

Mathematical or statistical skills and experience in handling or analyzing large quantities of data are advantages.

Full proficiency in both Swedish and English, written and spoken.

What We Offer

We offer you the opportunity to be part of one of Nasdaq's key departments within the exchange side of our business. We are looking for someone with high integrity and strong analytical skills with the ambition to become an authority in several exciting areas of the financial markets and products.

At Nasdaq, we strive to challenge the status quo and always look for new ways to do things to improve and exceed the collective goals of our teams, company, and customers. A strong inner drive and adaptability are therefore crucial to succeed at Nasdaq.

This is a part-time position in Stockholm and the working hours are between 10-15 hours a week with flexibility during exams and more hours during summer.
