Who are we?
The Materials Technology groups at Volvo Group Trucks Technology serve the Volvo Group and selected external customers in the field of applied materials technology. We offer competence and development resources for product and process development. Materials Technology has a modern laboratory for material analyses, focused on metallic materials, and advanced equipment for mechanical testing. We at Volvo Group Trucks Technology are actively working to establish teams that will take maximum advantage of the strength inherent in different knowledge, experience, age, gender and nationality etc.
We are now looking for a Test engineer to our workshop and sample preparation unit at Materials Technology in Göteborg.

Your role
As our test engineer at the sample preparation and workshop you will be a vital part of the success of the two materials technology teams. You will work close to our materials engineers with a number of different metallic materials and components.
You will prepare samples for further analysis, as well as maintain and develop the sample preparation equipment. Moreover you will help maintaining and update the Materials Technology quality system.
We also expect you to grow within the role and extend your skills, after training provided by us, towards e.g. non-destructive testing for crack detection and/or mechanical testing, such as tensile testing.

Who are you?
To be successful we think that you have a genuine interest in technology and an optimistic mindset. You are analytical, but also like to work 'hands on' with components - most important is however that you want to learn and develop in the role.
We also like you to be:
• Structured, accurate and well-ordered
• Comfortable in communication with both co-workers and external stakeholders
• Experienced in working in workshop and/or with sample preparation for materials analysis
• Used to work independently but also in cooperation with others
• Good knowledge in both Swedish and English
A possible background could a B.Sc. in mechanical engineering or a relevant college education and experience as technician in a workshop environment.
