What do we offer?
Propulsion & Climate Labs is Volvo Cars' Centre for testing of propulsion systems, in complete vehicle as well as in component form. We operate and develop propulsion test facilities for vehicles, drivelines, electric motors, batteries and transmissions, as well as aerodynamic and climatic testing. Our work includes hardware- and software preparation of testing, test execution and processing of measurement data.
To meet the future, we need to utilize state of the art methods to test and verify next generation cars in an efficient and correct manner. The battery lab is now expanding to a lab that can support the industrialization of the future electrified powertrains from Volvo Cars. We work tight together to develop the testing of battery cells to complete batteries. We are in a technology shift were the design is changing in a rapid pace and we as a team needs to be agile and at the same time deliver repeatable and precise data.
What you'll do
You will perform tests on all levels in both stand-alone set-ups and with CAN and HIL-systems. You will be responsible for the daily operation of the test bed including ensure that all test equipment used is maintained and calibrated. You will install test objects in test bed, program the Automatic test system and prepare new tests i.e. new drive cycles, setting up simulation models in test bed computer system.
Your daily work will code test programs, evaluate test results and prepare test objects as well as plan, execute and analyze tests together with internal customers. You will need to constantly learn new test methods and test systems and as we are in an expansion phase.
Skills and Experience are Important:
• Electronic/Electrical/Chemical Engineer or similar education
• Experience from testing simulation or lab work
• Knowledge within Validation & Verification
• Skills in CANanalyser and Python or similar
• Knowledge in high voltage system, Li-ion cells or from SiL, MiL, HiL work is meritorious
• but Personality & Potential are Key
You are an curios team player, who possess strong communication skills, but are also comfortable working independently. You have a genuine interest of batteries and working in labs, you love to learn new things! As a person, you are patience and have the ability to keep accuracy over time.
