Boeing Information and Knowledge Services (IKS) is currently looking for a Technical Writer to join our team in Gothenburg, Sweden. We develop innovative optimization solutions for the world's leading airlines. At Boeing, our content developers are dedicated to embracing continuous improvement, delivering more value to our clients, and exploring emerging technologies.
As a Technical Writer you'll support the Boeing Digital Solutions & Analytics portfolio of products and services by analyzing, designing, and developing effective and engaging training and documentation solutions. You'll develop content for both external aviation customers and internal partners who use and train our comprehensive suite of software. You'll join a tight-knit team of content developers who support multiple release trains and products. You'll also connect with other Boeing tech writers across the globe as a member of the IKS Technical Writing community of practice.

Position responsibilities
Develop, edit, and maintain single-sourced content according to established procedures and standards.
Collaborate closely with the editorial team, software development, customer support, product management, and customer services to develop high-quality content such as in-app help, web help, and other training materials for internal and external customers.
Participate in the software design and development stages to help identify and resolve gaps between software requirements and actual functionality, and to help users understand the overall application workflow.
Mentor writers with less experience.
Contribute to shared knowledge and industry best-practices across IKS.
Contribute to IKS best practices, including content standards, organization, configuration management, tools, and procedures.
Conduct audience analysis and task analysis to create dynamic content that meets the needs of multiple audiences and roles.
Collaborate with other types of content creators such as instructional systems designers, implementation and client services groups, and classroom instructors to create innovative learning experiences.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
Bachelor or Master degree or equivalent experience in technical communication.
3+ years of direct experience in documenting software systems.
Direct experience producing documentation for diverse audiences.
Ability to quickly translate complex technical concepts into easily understandable user content.
Excellent English fluency.
Experience with content authoring tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, WebWorks ePublisher, and oXygen XML Author.
Experience creating single-sourced, minimalist content in a structured authoring environment such as DITA.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Programming experience in Java, C++, or Python.
Working knowledge of version control systems such as git or a component content management system such as Ixiasoft.
Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
Familiarity with Atlassian products such as JIRA and Confluence.
Experience with graphics programs such as Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience with eLearning development tools such as Adobe Captivate or Articulate 360.
Basic Linux/UNIX experience.
