Scania's R&D department is transforming to become part of TRATON Group R&D. TRATON is a group of strong brands with a shared mission: transforming transportation together to create the future of sustainable transport solutions. Within TRATON, we include MAN, Scania, Volkswagen Truck & Bus, and International. As part of a global team of industry experts, you get to think bigger, experience more, and reach further. Together, we have the power to transform transportation.
Our values - customer first, respect, team spirit, responsibility, and elimination of waste - are at the heart of everything we do.

Role Summary
As we continue to revolutionize the automotive industry, we are looking for a Technical Systems Owner to lead the development of our Automated Driving System for autonomous vehicles within TRATON. You will play a key role in defining and evolving a system that includes the computational platform and sensor suite required for automated driving. Operating within a global, cross-functional team using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), you will collaborate with stakeholders across TRATON and its brands to build scalable, safe, and future-proof solutions.

Job Responsibilities
System Development: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of the Automated Driving System with a focus on safety, scalability, reliability, and security.
Collaboration: Partner closely with system engineers for computational and sensor platforms, as well as software developers and domain experts, to align architecture and functionality.
Requirements Management: Collect and translate stakeholder needs into system requirements and technical specifications.
Quality Assurance: Define system-level quality targets, support verification and validation activities, and ensure compliance with safety and cybersecurity standards.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive ongoing system enhancements.
Full Lifecycle Ownership: Oversee the system from concept through production and into maintenance phases.

Who You Are
You are a technically driven individual with a collaborative mindset and a genuine passion for building future-oriented systems. With a background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, you bring experience or interest in areas like system architecture, hardware, or software development. You're comfortable working with real-time embedded systems and may already have some familiarity with safety standards such as ISO 26262 or cybersecurity regulations like UNECE R155/R156.

Your strength lies in seeing the bigger picture while being detail-oriented, and you thrive in environments where cross-functional cooperation is key. You're someone who values structure and quality, but also embraces innovation and continuous learning. Fluency in English is essential for this role, and knowledge of Swedish is a plus.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds - your unique experience and perspectives is valuable to us.

This Is Us
We are a global team committed to redefining transportation through autonomous technology. At TRATON, you will find an environment where innovation meets real-world application, and where collaboration across borders and disciplines is part of everyday life. Our work is meaningful-we are developing solutions that have the potential to transform how the world moves.

Joining us means being part of a forward-thinking culture that values your voice and supports your growth. Whether you're driven by cutting-edge tech, complex systems, or global teamwork, this is a place where you can truly make an impact.

Within TRATON Group R&D, you are an important part of something bigger. Joining us means gaining access to the ins and outs of the entire transportation industry. As part of a global team of industry experts, you get to think bigger, experience more, and reach further. Being bigger also means being stronger. Together with our brands, we have the collective power to transform transportation.

We Offer
We offer a dynamic, flexible workplace with hybrid work options, including Scania Sergel and Midway hubs. With a structured development plan and courses, TRATON Group R&D supports your career growth both locally and internationally. Benefits include wellness allowance, TRATON result bonus, flexible hours, and company car leasing. We also hosts events for employees and their families, and Stockholm residents enjoy direct access to Södertälje via Scania Job express buses.
