We currently have the following job opening;
System Engineer, Sealing
We are now looking for a System Engineer within Body & Exterior. The assignment is in Doors & Hardware within the Closures Module Team. The Doors team is responsible for the side doors sheet metal, sealing and exterior plastics above belt, and the Hardware team is responsible for all additional components with electrical interface such as window regulators, handles, latches, power opening systems, etc.
As System Engineer you will be responsible for all deliveries for all closures sealing for a specific project. Depending on your background and ambitions you might either design the parts yourself and/or lead other design engineers.
The work principle within the Doors & Hardware team is flexibility and the possibility to use what you excel at together with a strong sense of co-operation. This means that you as part of a larger team will support activities in other areas as well as you will get support on your area.
Responsibilities and tasks
- You will be responsible for closure sealing/sealing system to report; technical fulfillment, timing and cost
- Secure timely deliveries with right quality
- Develop system design solutions to meet project requirements
- Define interfaces and participate in mechanical and electrical/SW integration meetings
- Report project issues and support need
- Secure technical fulfillment as defined by the System Manager including report any technical deviations
- Secure lessons learned for future projects
- Handle transfer from development phase to launch team for your parts
Requirements
- Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering, or the equivalent experience.
- 5-10 years of experience from task lead within automotive industry
- Detailed understanding of sealing system design
- Understanding of sealing manufacturing process and know-how
- Experience from involvement in the sealing launch for at least one project on the automotive industry (truck and bus projects are also considered)
- Experience from sealing supplier is a merit
- Genuine experience in Catia V5 and TeamCenter
- Pragmatic approach to issue solving
- Strong strive for cooperation
- Structured and well organized
- Fluent in English, both oral and written
- Driven problem solver who takes initiatives and responds to changing priorities
- Ability to travel
- Have an openness and awareness of foreign cultures, especially Asian and European
