The development within Active Safety, Driver Support & Vehicle Dynamics has been one of the fastest growing parts of Volvo R&D for the last decade. Volvo is the leading car manufacturer within this area and we are consistently launching world first features in our vehicles.
Active Safety department consist of over 300 engineers and is responsible for the development and verification of Active & Passive Safety, Autonomous Drive and Vehicle Dynamics systems and functions.
The Strategy, Concepts and Advanced Engineering section lead and coordinate the work with Strategy Plans, Advanced Engineering, Concept work and Collaboration with external partners/companies within the complete areas of 94400 (Active Safety). Our team is working in close collaboration with SA, Technical Specialists, Principal Engineer's and Development & Verification engineers
Within the section, we are now recruiting a
System and technical leader within Active Safety (SA1)
Main responsibility are listed below. Furthermore, with the formation of Zenuity, introduction of Unit programs, a more extensive external collaboration and a desire to implement a Product Line Approach, there is a need to be active in challenging the way SA1-role are applied as of today. With this new set-up we need to put more focus creating a stringent strategy and be more consistent in our offers (what, why and when)
Main responsibilities
Manage and secure consistent strategies for the system area
Taking part in optimizing and balancing on the complete system area
Leading optimizing and balancing of underlying system areas
Secure scalability for system area
Required qualifications
Technical education on University level (Master of Science or similar).
Practical and theoretical knowledge about the Volvo product development process and especially the electrical development process, or experience of analysis & verification/product development within electrical engineering in another business area.
Experience from leading analysis & verification or product development assignments and ability to motivate a team to deliver on time, meeting agreed requirements using new ways of working.
Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Driving license (B).
