AstraZeneca's Early Clinical Biometrics group are looking for talented Study Statisticians to join their statistics group. These positions will be based in Gothenburg, Sweden or Cambridge, UK.

The Early Clinical Biometrics is completely focused on delivering innovation, science and seeking out opportunity. We are currently looking for experienced statisticians, which can take on the role as Study Statisticians for study delivery in one of the therapy areas: Respiratory/Inflammation/Autoimmunity and Cardiovascular/Renal/Metabolic.

The Role

The successful candidate will be an indispensable member of our multidisciplinary teams and will play an active role in driving the strategy for development of medicines that make a real difference to patients across the world. You will provide statistical expertise to the study teams supporting analysis of clinical trials within early clinical development.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

* Work in a study team collaborating with vendors ensuring good quality of study deliveries
* Provide input to the writing of clinical documents containing statistical information of clinical data
* Developing the statistical sections of the clinical study protocol
* Collaborating with study teams and statistical programming to ensure that the appropriate programs and documentation are being developed
* Ensuring the statistical analyses in specified protocols are conducted appropriately
* Contributing in the team of statisticians to scientific discussions developing your statistical competence within the field
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with study teams

You will be given the opportunity to be influential in drug development and to gain experience on a range of challenging and exciting programs.

Essential Requirements

* A Statistics or Maths related MSc or PhD
* Experience of analysis and reporting in clinical data, ideally in pharmaceuticals or healthcare
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* A collaborative mindset
* Ability to apply leadership and statistical expertise to problem solving
* Experience in using statistical software such as SAS or S-Plus/R
