Mölnlycke is now looking for a Strategic Category Manager to join our global Raw Material Procurement team within the OR Solutions Business area.

You'll make a significant contribution to our business through:
Planning and directing purchasing activities to ensure optimum pricing, quality, delivery, and service, in order to maximize the purchasing power of the company.
Participating in product development projects and drive the sourcing related activities related hereto.
Develop strategies for assigned commodities in accordance with the sourcing process, and thereby support the company objectives and strategies.
Securing the supply of raw materials and products from key suppliers through partnership relations.


Within primary focus areas this role has the following key accountabilities:
Develop sourcing strategies and programs for assigned categories based on company objectives to reduce costs and to ensure satisfactory supplier and product performance.
Monitor the market and industry trends that affect assigned areas, including cost drivers, manufacturing cost, materials development and the global supply base to be used in cost reduction activities and price negotiations.
Perform supplier evaluations to ensure that current and potential suppliers fulfil quality and environmental standards, code of conduct and that required capacity is available. You will also ensure the adherence of the company's ethical, behavioural and quality principles and standards throughout the sourcing and supply processes.
Participate in new product development and/or product care project teams to support the scope of the project, to drive the sourcing related activities related hereto and to ensure that the procurement strategy is maintained.
Apply effective negotiation techniques to establish agreements that support identified strategies and enhance the global competitiveness of the company.

What you'll need
Extensive experience from purchasing in an international environment, minimum 5 years.
Experience from Sourcing strategy formulation and implementation
English - Full Professional proficiency
Analytical and cost calculation skills
Category and Supplier management experience with good negotiation skills
Knowledge in Commercial agreements & policies
It's seen as an advantage if you have experience from the life science space (med tech)
