SSAB is the leading steel producer of high strength steels and famous for the high quality products like Hardox and Strenx. SSAB has during the years developed the market for high strength steels and at the same time developed a unique technical support. The advance technical customer support are branded "Knowledge Service Center" and is today a part of the offer to SSAB's customers. One of the main tasks is to work close to the customer in joint projects where the knowledge about steel and how to best utilize their potential is provided by SSAB. These projects are often very successful and beneficial for both parties.
The team "Wear Technology" are now looking for a co-worker. Wear Technology is a specialist team working with the brand Hardox and is a part of the "Knowledge Service Center". You will work with other technical specialists, SSAB's sales organisation and technical application engineers. The goal is common: To enable our customers to build light and stronger products that is more durable. There is a need for travelling in this role and an estimation is around 60 days per year.
Who are we looking for?
A good start is if you become happy when you see high quallity steel. A passion to find solutions by perform testing in the field and in the laboratory. Upgrading to harder, thougher and better steels are our "bread and butter" and if you are curious on our customers business and tehnichal challenges it is a good start. You are confient to present and talk about steel and technology for customers as well as in educational purpose.
Your qualifications
You have a bachelor degree from technical college or university in material engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent. Wear perfomance is the central part so tribology background is strongly beneficial. Good knowledge in solid mechanics, machine elements and design are a must. Skills as solidmodelling, FEA analysis and DEM are advantageous. English is the company languge and Swedish is very useful since the position is in Sweden. Our customers is all around the globe so languages skills are welcome. You have driving license for car.
