Are you an experienced Financial Professional based in the Gothenburg area? If so, you might be the person we are looking for!
Thermo Fisher Scientific is looking for an Accountant with relevant experience, focus and initiative to join our Finance team based at our site in Gothenburg, Sweden.
How will you make a difference?
You will be joining one of the world's largest life-science organisations where our mission is to help our customers make the world healthier, cleaner and safer.
Your primary responsibilities will be to drive reporting and financial control in a large matrix organization, primarily for the Danish trading entity, as well as supporting other departments and colleagues throughout the business.You will report to the (Finance Manager Nordic Countries) and joining a team of 3 other Financial professionals.
What will you do?
You will be responsible for accounting in our Danish business and your duties will include:
• Hands-on, day-to-day bookkeeping and control
• Complex, standardised monthly, quarterly and annual internal reporting to the European group and our US head office
• Year-end statutory reporting
• Primary contact for external auditors and tax advisers.
• Intercompany controls and compliance focus
• Other external compliance (Intrastat, VAT etc.)
• Invoice coding for Accounts Payable
• Dealing with internal audits and reviews as required
• Local and US GAAP accounting
• Other financial responsibilities that arise from time-to-time
Who are we looking for?
To succeed in this role you should be a results-driven team player who can take responsibility for all general ledger accounting tasks for our Danish Business. You are someone with good judgment and thrives in an outgoing role with many stakeholders. You should also be analytical, systematic, and energetic, able to complete tasks under pressure and to tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
In addition, we expect you to have:
• Relevant professional experience in accounting and financial management
• Strong accounting skills
• The ability to collaborate and communicate across professional groups
• Solid communication skills
• Fluent Danish both written and spoken is a must and fluent English is preferred.
• Good IT understanding and experienced user of Microsoft 360
• Experience working in ERP system IBS and HFM reporting would be useful but is not a requirement - we will provide the necessary training
• The ability to thrive and adapt in a changing environment
