Software System Package Owner

The diagnostic teams in the department Powertrain Controls & Calibration are involved early in the development of new powertrain concepts. It is a large challenge to develop solutions which both meet legal requirements and have maximum robustness not causing customer disturbances. The teams are responsible for development of system solutions, functional design and verification in full-scale test cars. We realise our ideas through the development of functionality software in a number of embedded control systems. When necessary, we arrange expeditions to various places in the world to test our hypotheses in different environments e.g. warm/cold climate combined with altitudes from sea level to high altitude roads in the Alps.

The Diagnostic group OBD Platform and Data Analysis is responsible for development and calibration of diagnostic fault manager as well as script support for the complete sections need of big data management and analysis.

The main purpose of the SSPO (Software System Package Owner) is to bridge the gap between system development and the software development related to one Software System Package (SSP) so that functional growth is achieved while the quality of the SSP is maintained.

As Software System SPO for ECU Platform and Data Logger you will manage SSP SW-development and SW-maintenance by negotiating, deriving and refining stakeholder requirements, and participate, as a SW representative, during system development. In addition to this the SSPO will define changes to the software by prioritise SSP change requests to be developed, support the definition of development tasks to implement the SSP change requests, define development tasks to maintain SSP quality, plan the execution of development tasks with the Software Team Leader (SWTL) and accept SSP releases together with the Software Quality Assurance responsible for In House SW development.
In addition to this you will also do software development for some existing SPMs (software plugin module) as well as develop new software functionality. We are looking for an owner for two SSPs, who will work in all our projects during industrialisation phase. You should have the passion for software processes and software development and want to further develop in these areas.

Main responsibilities

• Be responsible for at least one Software System Package (SSP) and
• To maintain the functional growth and quality of the SSP
• To maintain SSP related information (requirements, design)
• To provide projects with SSP solutions by managing SSP change requests (negotiating/accepting/prioritizing/refining) and support transforming them into development tasks.
• Responsible for SPM
• Develop new SPM

Required qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science , Mechatronic, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Capability to understand complex systems and functions
• SW Architecture
• SW Engineering
• SW Engineering Lead
• SW Configuration Management
• Function Development
• Driver's License (B-level)
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Work experience within the automotive industry is meritorious
• Experience of embedded control systems and engine control systems is meritorious
• Experience in electronic diagnostic systems and system specifications is meritorious
